DEVEX builds plants for thermal separation—producing concentrates by evaporating a solvent (often water) to raise the concentration of the remaining substances, and distillates by separating a mixture into components by their differing boiling points and condensing them. Concentration cuts transport weight and cost and extends shelf life (as with juice concentrate or syrup), with the target concentration restored by adding water at the destination; ethanol from grain mash is a classic distillate example. Plants serve the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries and are offered small or large, with or without vapour compressor, as evaporators or rectifiers—and DEVEX also supplies non-thermal membrane-filtration plants where appropriate.
